So here’s the thing…
After much thought, I have decided to excuse myself from the remainder of the “A to Z Challenge.” Writing about my “Literary Ladies” for letters A through G has been fun but also a bit stressful. Posting everyday just does not fit in my schedule and it makes it difficult for me to find time to read all the other blogs, which is really my favorite part.
In addition, from the letter “G” on, I was quite short on topics so that would have been an added challenge. Some of the ladies on my list like Hermione Granger, Kinsey Millhone (Sue Graftons’s Alphabet series) and Stephanie Plum (Janet Evanovich’s Number series) may still make it into some future post but as for me and the “2016 A to Z”, I think I’ll just watch the rest from the sidelines. 😊

Hey – I just wanted to chime in (albeit late) about the A to Z thing – I did my own version one month and it was literally my least favorite way to blog-
And when I read this post – I admired it right away – first – the smooth delivery of why- so good – how it does not fit your style and actually pulled from the way you enjoy blogging – and if more folks modeled this contenment and healthy decision making – well we would all be better off! There are times to push and grind thru a challenge, but other times pulling the plug is the very best call!
Anyhow – the second thing is that when things are forced it is never good – and so saying that you will get to the other authors – well that was just smooth too because it can unfold later – without the A to Z!

Had to share that and later I hope to come back to skim more of the A to Z posts you did

Thanks so much for your input. I really appreciate it. I did feel a tad guilty about bowing out but, like you, I believe there are times you need to tough stuff out and other times you need to let it go! This summer, when I have time, I plan to revisit the ladies I never got to. Stay tuned!😉

I found you via the #AtoZChallenge, but can understand your desire to stop doing this. I’m still not sure that I think this is a good use of my free time, but I’m in it… at least for another day. That being said, “hi!” Lovely blog you have going here. Glad that I met you.

It is not an easy challenge – even if the posts have been prepared in advance. In the end, if you aren’t enjoying it, it’s time to stop. Good for you for trying though!! 🙂

I’d have trouble posting every day, too! I think it was great that you did it while it was fun and engaging, and that when it became a bit of a chore, you were able to walk away. Because blogging is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, in my opinion.

I have to admit, I’ve fallen behind by one day, and feeling like I should give it up also. It is hard to do, but my writing in the perspective I am has helped me to rethink some of my emotional road blocks!
Then you are taking something away from it. That’s a good reason to keep at it if you can. Good luck either way. 😊
I was tempted to participate in the challenge, but I can’t commit to posting everyday. I like the freedom of posting when I want.😊
That’s the conclusion I came to also.
I thought you were amazing to even attempt it. At the end of the day, it has to be fun. If you’re not having fun, it’s time to pull out. So good for you for keeping blogging what it’s meant to be.

I was thinking what Trent wrote. I thought about joining the A-Z challenge, even came up with what might be a good theme, and then gave up before I started. Good for you for starting and getting as far as you did. It’s a great theme. 🙂
I spent a year blogging daily for a challenge of my own (summed up: getting outside every day and blogging about it), and I know how stressful and time consuming it can be.
I tend to be an obsessive editor so I go back and reread and edit so much that it takes a lot longer that it should.
Very time consuming I would think. Relax now.
I feel more relaxed already.
I’m still impressed, it was a great theme for the challenge, but totally understand how stressful it would be to try and keep up with it all each day.
